Snow Is Falling

Like the rest of Britain, there's been a lot of snow in my area over the last few days, so I thought I'd get a picture of the Christmas lights from my window!  Christmas is absolutely my favourite time of year, it's so cosy and happy and loving.  I miss having someone special to share it with.

Next time I'll upload the pictures I drew and stuck on my wall for the festive season.

My cat looked so content lying beside the fireplace today; I wish I could be even half as content as that...

Cake Lord

Today I baked some Neenish cupcakes (chocolate and vanilla flavour!), and decided to make a little icing TARDIS for the top of one of them.  I don't think it went too badly for a first-ever attempt at moulding icing...

Also, I later discovered the joys of dripping food-colouring onto my hand and watching the ink run along the patterns in my palm... It ended messily, to say the least.  Although, the blue colour did make the shape of a horse's face!

Happy Hallowe'en!

I like Hallowe'en for the fun of dressing up and decorating the house and playing games etc.  (I don't like it when people use it as an excuse for vandalism and greed though...).  One tradition in my house is to watch the film 'Hocus Pocus', which is what I'll be doing soon.  In the meantime, here's a little Hallowe'en picture that I drew earlier!

I like the winter months much more than summer.  There's something cosy and romantic about hurrying along in the cold to a warm home.  It's a time for watching rain on window panes, drinking hot chocolate, and hugs (especially when also wrapped in a blanket!).
The trees in my neighbourhood have started to turn, and they look stunning.

I can never decide if I like grey squirrels or not.

On the one hand; they're cute, quick and fluffy.  On the other; they ganged up on the red squirrels, who are adorable...  Regardless, here's a photo I took of a grey squirrel outside my window!

Hello, Internets!

Today I was feeling unwell, and so I decided to join the rest of the world in creating a blog.  My name is Charlotte (code-name, Charlarella - a combination of 'Charlotte' and 'Cinderella', which came about through a conversation about Disney years ago).

My hobbies include photography, cake-baking and colouring-in; so I guess that's what this blog will be mostly made up of...
